About Us

CARD is a leading Non-Governmental Organisation engaged in the field of rural development for the past 26 years in Tamilnadu State, India. CARD was started by Mr. P. Vedachalam and other social workers to work for the development of poor people. The major areas of focus of the organisation are Health, Education, Income Generation, Rights of Women and Children, Housing, Water, Sanitation, Hygiene Promotion, Renewable Energy and Technology Transfer. Mrs. S. R. Jaya is the Programme Director since May 2001. She has 31 years experience in rural development. She is a Post Graduate in Sociology and also in Social Work. She has completed Post Graduate Diploma Courses in NGO Management, Hospital Management and Guidance and Counselling.

The area of operation of CARD is Tamilnadu.

To work for the sustained development of poor village people through integrated development activities.
