Bakery, Fruit and Vegetable Processing

 

Rural poor women  are given  training  in Bakery, Fruit and Vegetable processing  at Pallapatti village in Madurai District.  It is a two years project  supported by Tzedek, United Kingdom. 60 rural poor women were already trained through three batches. The final batch of training is under progress. The training is provided  in the  production  of  Bakery products such as  Bread, Bun, Puffs, Cakes, Rusk, Biscuits.  The  training  is also  provided  to the  poor women on the preparation  of various types  of  Pickles, Mixed  Fruit Jam, Fruit  Juice and Tomato Ketch up. The products are marketed  through  a sales outlet  near the training centre.  

Assembling  of  LED Lights:

Rural Girls are given training in Assembling of LED lights  at Hiraniyamangalam village in Karur District.  It is a one year project  supported by Australian Consulate General  of  Chennai  under  Direct Aid  Programme(DAP). 30 rural poor girls were already trained. The second and final batch of training is under progress. The training is provided  in the  production  of  LED bulbs, Tubes and Street Lights. The duration of the training is three  months.

Milk Producers Co-operative Society:   

A milk producers co-operative society was promoted  by CARD in 1987 and it is functioning well for the last 30 years.  274 milk producers are the members of the society and they are producing about 1500 liters of milk per day. The milk is marketed through Milk Producers Co-operative Union, Trichy. CARD arranged  loan to 150 members for the purchase of  cross bred cows and feed from  Nabkisan Finance Limited.
