On the auspicious occasion of the 194th birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, a celebration was organized at Mangrud Village by the Savitribai Mahila Gram Sangh in collaboration with the Zilla Parishad (ZP) School. The event was attended by the Gram Sangh members, students, teachers, and officials from the Community Action for Rural Development (CARD).
This gathering commemorated the contributions of Savitribai Phule, a pioneer of women’s education and social reform in India, while emphasizing the importance of collective action for community upliftment.
The event began with a tribute to Savitribai Phule, highlighting her tireless efforts toward the empowerment of marginalized communities. Key dignitaries, including Sarpanch Akash Uike, Vanita Neware (President of Navdurga SHG), Megha Mahendra Raut (President of Jijau SHG), and Mamta Ankush Neware (Secretary of Navjeevan SHG), shared inspiring messages about her legacy.
Teachers Rajendra Urkude and Kundan Shirsat from the ZP School also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the relevance of Savitribai’s teachings in today’s educational and social contexts.
Satyawati Bagade and Vanita Neware, officials from CARD Maharashtra, outlined the organization’s ongoing initiatives aimed at uplifting marginalized groups. They elaborated on plans to support underserved communities in Mangrud and neighboring villages by addressing critical issues such as education, women’s empowerment, and rural development. Their vision resonated with the attendees, inspiring collaborative efforts for holistic development.
